Smartphone sales grow on 3G

The smartphone market continues to grow despite a stalling economy thanks to increasing migration to third-generation (3G) wireless service and the launch of next-generation mobile computing devices. 

Samsung vice-president Wichai Pornpratang shows off the water-resistant capability of the new Galaxy S5 smartphone with actress Chermarn ‘Ploy’ Boonyasak.

Titipong Khiewpaisal, the senior vice-president for marketing and sales at Advanced Info Service Plc (AIS), said mobile operators are promoting 3G services after rolling out nationwide network expansions.
