April 19 coup rumour 'groundless' says army

- +

The army has again called as groundless speculation in the social media that the military would stage a coup on April 19, starting at 4am.

Col Winthai Suwari, the army spokesman, said it was completely untrue, just rumour and speculation on the social media.

He said the army's main duty was to help the victims of disasters, safeguard the border against smuggling and maintain law and order at protest sites and important places, as ordered by the Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (Capo).
