Pheu Thai Party has filed a complaint against the Senate speaker-elect, accusing him of taking part in an insurrection when he called a meeting to discuss the appointment of a new prime minister.
Prompong Nopparit submitted the plea to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on Wednesday, seeking the prosecution of Surachai Liangboonlertchai for breaking Section 113 of the Criminal Code.
The party said in addition to acting unconstitutionally, Mr Surachai accommodated the request of Suthep Thuagsuban, secretary of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), who are on several arrest warrants.
