Democrat backs reform timetable

- +

The one-year timeframe for national reform announced by the coup-makers is not too long, says Nipit Intarasombat, the deputy leader of the Democrat Party.

He said he had not discussed the matter with other Democrats but he thought the plan and timetable outlined for a national reform council was acceptable.

He urged all parties involved to cooperate with the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) so that the country could resume democracy soon. Further protests, he said, could only delay the reform process.
