Coup disrupts airline's launch

- +

Tensions in Thailand and Vietnam have forced Cambodia Angkor Air (CAA) to defer its launch of new direct regional flights planned for the end of this year.

Airline chairman Tekret Samrach said the problems in the two neighbouring countries were affecting tourism in Cambodia and the planned flights needed to be reviewed. They could be revived next year, the Phnom Penh Post said on its website on Thursday.

''We need to strictly study the market demand. And now it is not right [to launch the flights] as our neighbours still have problems, so it affects our tourism industry,'' he was quoted as saying.
