Thai working in Iraq remain safe as they live outside the current war zone, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.
Sek Wannamethee, director-general of the Department of Information, said the Thai embassy in Amman, Jordan, reported that the occupation of Mosul, the second biggest city in Iraq, by forces of the jihadist Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group caused over 500,000 people to flee, but Thai people remained unaffected.
Mr Sek said that Thais working in Iraq were not in the conflict zone.
