Suvarnabhumi ivory haul was headed for Siem Reap

A Vietnamese man and a Chinese woman have been arrested at Suvarnabhumi airport for trafficking in African elephant tusks and ivory bracelets worth about nine million baht.

Luong Tien Phong, 62, and Chen Zhiyu, 23, were presented at a news conference at the airport's customs office on Monday after an X-ray of their four bags  revealed 18 pieces of tusks and 587 ivory bracelets weighing a combined 46 kilogrammes on Saturday.
