An arrest warrant has been issued for a third suspect in connection with the July 25 car bomb in Yala’s Betong district that killed two bystanders and injured at least 40 people.
Investigators in charge of the case said the Betong Provincial Court had approved a warrant for the arrest of Faosee Klupae, 33, a Yala native, after CCTV footage captured him parking a stolen pickup truck laden with explosives in front of the Holiday Hill Hotel before the explosion.
The footage also showed another man sitting next to Mr Faosee in the pickup. Police believed the passenger was Lukmarn Pulaprapae, wanted under an arrest warrant in a security-related case in Yala on Jan 20, 2008. A further warrant has been issued for his arrest.
