Pepper spray was fired and a senior police officer struck with an electric fan in the melee as gamblers tried to escape from about 100 metropolitan police during a raid on a heavily guarded illegal casino in Bang Sue district early this morning (Dec 21). Police arrested 199 gamblers and seized a large quantity of gambling equipment as well as cash in the 4.30am raid on the casino in the Tao Pun area of Techa Wanit Road.

This was just a small time casino, I imagine it was raided to take the pressure off the bigger casino that someone was recently allegedly killed for giving details about, but were ignored by police commanders.

This type of casino was supposed to have been put out of operation months ago, yet it was just closed today....hmmmm. So now two casinos have been closed that police commanders denied existed, or said were already closed down.
