Sprit mediums and worshippers participate in an annual fire-walking ritual at the Cheng Chui Jor Su Kong Chinese shrine in Krabi province to celebrate the birthday of Chinese goddess Guan Yin. Devotees, who wear white clothes and become vegetarian for a day to purify their bodies, believe that taking part in the ceremony will bring them and their families good luck.
