The Flying Price of Pork

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has instructed the Commerce Ministry to address the retail price of pork, which has risen to around 160 baht per kilo from an average of 90 to 100 baht last year. We spoke to vendors at Yingcharoen Market in Saphan Mai, Bangkok - where pork is being sold for two baht below the controlled price of 152 baht per kilo - who fear their businesses will close if the government does not take action quickly.
