Warding off bad luck at Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year heralds the beginning of the Chinese lunar calendar and a time to ward off bad luck for the next 12 months. As part of this, the Chinese believe in paying their respects to the god of fortune, a practice now carried out by many Thai people of Chinese descent.
