US singer Demi Lovato will treat Cambodian fans to a free concert in Phnom Penh next month, organisers said.

The pop star, who rose to fame with hits like "Let It Go", will be in the Cambodian capital May 5 for an event organised by Smart Axiata, a telecom provider in Cambodia, in collaboration with Universal Music, the Phnom Penh Post said on Thursday.

"We are totally excited being able to bring such a world class artist like Demi to Cambodia," the newspaper quoted Smart Axiata chief executive officer Thomas Hundt as saying at a press conference.

The Phnom Penh stop is part of her world tour, which includes concerts in Singapore on April 28, Manila on April 30 and Kuala Lumpur on May 4. The stop in Cambodia has not been posted on her website to promote her concert.

The Phnom Penh Post expected more than 35,000 fans to be at the show.
