DENPASAR, INDONESIA: A Thai woman has been arrested after swallowing more than 1,200 ecstasy pills wrapped in plastic and trying to smuggle them into the resort island of Bali, Indonesian officials say.
Customs officials said the 24-year-old woman, Sophawat Ueamduean, appeared nervous and was found to have a hard stomach during a body search at Bali's international airport after she arrived on a flight from Bangkok.
The distressed Sophawat Ueamduean told Bali reporters she was paid 20,000 baht to act as a drug mule. (AFP Photo)
