Cambodia, Thailand reach Preah Vihear deal

Thai and Cambodian military authorities have agreed to withdraw their troops from a provisional demilitarised zone near the Preah Vihear temple and let Indonesian observers supervise the area.

Yutthasak: No delay in ICJ order

The agreement was made at the 8th meeting of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) in Phnom Penh yesterday.

PT-led government can do the right things that the ex.DEM-led government can't do.

Disc 11- I think the YS photo op with Hillary Clinton was more to do with the US engaging with countries in the region to promote it's future presence here rather than any pat on the back for YS.

At one time, the US even supported Saddam Hussein.

agree with disc nr 3. First PAD made Thailand a divided country and they also made the red shirt born. PAD took down 3 elected governments. When PAD got bored, they went to Cambodia, trying to start a war. Still none of these PAD leaders are in jail for the actions they've done.

On the account of foreign relationship, this government has done exceedingly well compare to the previous. Beginning of this year we were on verge of a total war with Cambodia and all ASEAN countries hold their breathe as any conflict will affect the whole region. Now our standing in ASEAN has improved and on verge of better cooperation and businesses with GMC members. Ban and Hillary have dropped in and meet Yingluck. Certainly a credible achievement for someone who is so new to the international arena.

Dis#3 "The PAD and their border demonstrations really set off the war."

REALLY , I thought it was the contraversial 11th hour signing of the "Joint Communique" that Crossed The Line , Affectively Signing It Away , Some Would Concider This A Done Deal ?

AND , "Is anyone going to make them pay for the damage from the fighting to Thai villages and schools? Or compensation to the families lost? Or do they remain completely untouchable and why?"

Exactly BUT Highly Unlikely , As Since When Does Anyone Of Authority In Thailand Take Responsibility For Any Of Their Actions ?

This is foreign policy done right, better than Mark who was trying to pull a 'Falklands'

Hi, the author should have concluded with these words: the actual date of withdrawal of troops on either side is yet inconclusive.

    "Staged?!"

Hey, the PT government, in short order, did what AV & the Dem's could or would not... they made peace! What I found staged was the jingoistic marches by the PAD & other yellows beating the nationalistic drums of war. Peace is better. Read the news:

"The agreement is just one crucial resolution bearing fruit at the GBC meeting, co-chaired by Thai Defence Minister Yutthasak Sasiprapa and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Tea Banh."

Bearing fruit, not enough for all of you critics?
