Prosecutors in southeast China have brought formal charges of bribery and smuggling against a fugitive businessman repatriated from Canada in a bitter deportation row, state press said Monday.

The charges against Lai Changxing are expected to be heard by the Xiamen Intermediate Court in Fujian province at an unspecified date, China National Radio said.
