After a convincing re-election victory, President Barack Obama looks set for another four years of reorienting the United States toward Asia at a time of uncertainty over a rising China.

In his first foreign trip since Tuesday's election, Mr Obama plans a historic visit to encourage reforms in Myanmar -- seen as a key success during his first term -- and will go to Thailand and Cambodia.

bkposter, Obama visited Singapore in November 2009 and Indonesia in November 2010 and November 2011.
George W. Bush, on the other hand, made only 2 overseas state visits (Source: US State Department).

He has been president for one term already......and he is still blaming it on bush. Where have you been for 4 years Mr President?

"Though issues like Syria are not going to go away, the fact that the US will not be at war by 2014 when it pulls combat troops out of Afghanistan should mean Asia can move up on the administration's second-term agenda," said Nina Hachigian, a senior fellow at the left-leaning Centre for American Progress.

Trust me, the US will either be at war somewhere in the Middle East in 2014 (if not sooner) or the US economy will have collapsed. Either way, Thailand shouldn't expect much from Obama.
