Malaysian Islamists plan Elton John protest

KUALA LUMPUR - Members of an Islamic political party will protest against Elton John's appearance in concert in the Malaysian capital on Saturday.

The Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) objects to the performance on the grounds that it promotes "hedonism" and because of the star's gay marriage, which it believes could have a negative impact on young Malaysians.
