Riot police for S. Korean gang boss funeral

Scores of riot police turned out for the funeral of one of South Korea's most notorious gang bosses, who was a major figure in the organised crime world in the 1970s and 80s.

This combination picture made in 2007 by the Dong-A newspaper shows film star Kwon Sang-Woo (L) and Kim Tae-Chon. Scores of riot police turned out Tuesday for the funeral of Kim, one of South Korea's most notorious gang bosses and a major figure in the organised crime world in the 1970s and 80s. Police once investigated threats against actors from crime groups.

The service was held at the Seoul hospital where Kim Tae-Chon died on Saturday at the age of 64 of a heart attack arising from a long illness.
