A judge hopeful of being appointed to Indonesia’s Supreme Court has been condemned for making insensitive comments about rape during a "fit-and-proper-test" at the parliament building in Jakarta.
Asked his opinion about applying capital punishment to rapists, Palembang High Court judge Daming Sanusi replied, “Both the rapist and the victim enjoy it. So, [we] have to think again about death sentence.”
The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) rebuked the comments on Monday.
