7 student hijackers arrested in Jakarta

Seven armed high school students were arrested in Jakarta Monday night, after they were caught hijacking three minibuses in the city.

The seven, part of a 100-strong mob of students, were carrying steel bars, a sword, a saw, a bayonet, bicycle chain rings and two golf clubs.

Police believe the group, all students from vocational school STM Triguna Utama, were planning to attack another school in Ulujami, South Jakarta, when they hijacked the minibuses travelling between Blok M and Ciledug at 7.30pm.
