Plans to upgrade Myanmar airport

Thailand and Myanmar have discussed a plan to improve an airport in Mon state for direct air links between the two countries.

A group of Thai businessmen, led by former prime minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, visited Mon state on Tuesday to hold talks with senior Myanmar officials, including chief minister Ohn Myint.

Upgrading the airport in Moulemein, the state capital, would open the way for direct flights between the two countries, according to The Irrawaddy.
