Tourist allegedly gang raped in India

A group of eight men allegedly raped a 39-year-old Swiss tourist and assaulted her husband in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, police said Saturday.

The crime took place at a village near Datia town late Friday, said district superintendent of police CS Solanki.

The couple were travelling by bicycle from the temple town of Orchha to Seonda when they stopped to camp near the village for the night, Solanki said.

the fact that this has happened is disgusting, I hope they are arrested and locked up, I see some are going on a different line of rape the rapist and castration.

In a system as crazy as India with punishment that harsh do you think there would be any false clams made against me from bad woman?? This is why we have a limit to our laws, even our advanced English laws have issues, the UK Govt quote that 2% of the population are wrongly imprisoned.

How would that equate to india and the crazy corrupt systems there? 10% ? 20%? wrongly castrated?? would that make you happy???

    Disc 1

agree. They aren't the kind of tourists Thailand should be welcoming. Yet there are hordes of them in Pattaya. They completely lack any social graces at all, and are nothing but a menace.

I studied in an Indian International School. This is how i see it...Indian men/woman are smothered by their "STRICT" parenting/society/gossips/and lots of "NO" i cant do it because of my parents/or people will "TALK" etc.. That the freedom that they want for themselves becomes "suppressed" (if not controlled by an individual or too much control of parenting). That's why when you see them having their freedom, they over do it up to the point where it becomes extreme.

"A total of 24,206 cases of rape were reported in 2011". These are only the reported cases. I can only imagine that there are additional rapes than those reported. The weak and young who are abused may be frightened to report.
Castration and hard labour is not a fitting punishment for the perpetrators. Give them what they understand the best, a taste of their own medicine for several years.

I think some harsh examples need to be set for rapists to understand .Castration would be a good start followed by many years of manual labor .

always see Indian men go around in groups of five or six in Bangkok and pattaya, always searching for a lone lady down on her luck and desperate who will service the whole group for a pittance, group sex/rape seems to be popular with Indians.
