Former winners Northern Bulls and ACT Brumbies kept in touch with defending champions Waikato Chiefs at the top of Super Rugby with weekend wins while the playoff picture became a little clearer.
This file photo shows Northern Bulls players lamenting their narrow loss against the Queensland Reds following their Super 15 rugby union match in Brisbane, on March 23, 2013. The Bulls took a major step towards taking the S.African conference with a 30-25 win over main rivals Central Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday to hold down second place overall and stretch their conference lead.
The Chiefs had a bye this weekend and lead the Bulls and Brumbies by two points with just three regular rounds left to next month's playoffs.
