KHON KAEN - The body of a woman was found cut into two pieces and dumped in plastic bags near a village in Khao Suan Kwang district on Thursday.
Farmers at Ban Noen Sanga alerted Khao Suan Kwang police station after finding the body pieces in black plastic bags near a dirt road while walking to rice farms.
Khao Suan Kwang police chief Pol Col Pakphum Phitsamai said the woman was in her 20s and 155 centimetres tall.
Evidence showed that she could be slain somewhere else before the killers dropped the body parts near the village.
Police are trying to identify the woman, who had two tattoos on the left chest and the back, he said.
