'Preaw' to stay in jail

Investigators yesterday sought further detention for Preeyanuch "Preaw" Nonwangchai and two other women suspected of murdering 22-year-old karaoke bar worker Warisara Klinjui in Khon Kaen last month.

Khao Suan Kwang investigators took Ms Preeyanuch, Kawinta Ratchada, and Apiwan Satayabundit to the Khon Kaen Provincial Court to submit a request for a third detention period after the second period ended yesterday.

Pol Col Parkpoon Pissamai, Khao Suan Kwang police chief, said the further detention was sought as police needed to question more witnesses and wrap up the case for prosecutors.

As for two other suspects, Jidarat Promkhun and Wasin Namprom, Pol Col Parkpoom said they were in police custody at Khon Kaen Central Prison and Khon Kaen Special Correctional Institution, respectively.

Pol Col Parkpoom said police have almost finished gathering evidence and witness accounts. They are also waiting for the analysis of forensic evidence.

According to police, the suspects confessed to all allegations, except for Ms Jidarat who denied all charges against her.
