CHON BURI -- A Russian woman was seriously injured after falling from a room on the fourth floor of a Pattaya Park building and crashing through the roof of the storage area of a 7-Eleven convenience store early on Sunday.

Police identified the woman as Zhanna Grinberg, 37.

Siripong Khachaiyaphum, 19, a 7-Eleven employee, told police that he was arranging boxes of goods in the storage area behind the store when he heard a loud bang and saw the woman fall through the roof onto the ground, narrowly missing him.  A big hole was left in the ceiling.

He ran out to alert fellow employees before calling police.

On arrival at the scene, the police found the woman lying on the floor, seriously injured.  Her husband and their son were trying to help her.

A police investigation revealed that the woman lives with her husband and son in a room on the fourth floor of the same commercial building in tambon Nong Prue of Bang Lamung district.

Police were questioning her husband and son to find the cause of the fall.  Residents in nearby rooms said they heard the noise of a quarrel before the incident.
