The five men were travelling in three vehicles, two passenger vans and a Toyota Vios. They were apprehended about 12.30am at a petrol station in tambon Sra Khwan of Sa Kaeo’s Muang district, where they had stopped to refuel.

Aranyaprathet and Muang Sa Kaeo police were alerted about the movement of war weapons through the area, and followed the vehicles from the border in Ban Khlong Nam Sai in Aranyaprathet district.

When the vehicles made a stop at the petrol station on Highway 359, the five men were arrested. They were identified as Pongpana Chaikong, 38, Boontham Chaichana, 52, Komsan Kitthavornarcheep, 30, Uthai Chaichana, 48, and Meechai Klanprasom, 44.
