Man arrested for on-LINE marijuana trading

A man confessed to buying dried marijuana via social media for resale - and sending it to customers by using a well-known private delivery company - after about 21 kilogrammes of marijuana was found in his house, Thong Lor police said on Sunday.

Pol Col Kiatipong Nala, deputy chief of Metropolitan Police Division 5, said that Thong Lor police on Saturdsy stopped and searched the man, Pongthorn Sukkul, 28, because he looked suspicious.

No illegal items were found on him but the man admitted to have used marijuana and hidden some in his house.

In a search of his house in Soi Ban Kluay Mai off Rama IV road, the police found about 21kg of dried marijuana, marijuana sprouts with a cultivator, a digital weighing scale and plastic bags.

Pol Col Kiatipong said the man confessed he had bought grade A compressed and dried marijuana from dealers via LINE and Facebook for about 7,500 baht per kg.  He ordered five to ten kilogrammes at a time and resold the drug for between 9,000 - 10,000 baht per kg. The marijuana was sent to customers by a well-known delivery service company.

He had been doing this for about one year, Pol Col Kiatipong said.
