Myanmar man held for killing coworker

A Myanmar man is being held for allegedly killing a fellow countryman in a drunken brawl in Nakhon Si Thammarat province late Thursday.

Local police found the body of the unidentified victim in his late 20s. He had suffered two hard blows to the head and four stab wounds to the abdomen. His alleged attacker, identified as Sol, 27, was waiting for police near the Tha Phae ice factory in Pak Phoon sub-district of Muang district.

Police said the man confessed that he killed his friend about 11.30pm after getting drunk in a round of drinking. He said the two got into a serious argument that led to a fist fight. Then Sol told police he used a hard object to hit his co-worker on the head twice, knocking him down. Police said Sol reported that he then stabbed the man four times.

The body was sent to Kuson Sattha Foundation in Surat Thani province to wait for a relative.
