Burglar hits 14 units in single building

Fourteen apartments in one Pathum Thani building were burgled Thursday night, likely by a lone thief.

Pol Lt Col Boonying Bundhitthai, the duty officer at Thaya Buri police station, was informed of the incident at about 9pm by the manager of MT Condominium in tambon Bung Yi Tho in Thanya Buri district.

A team of police who went to examine the scene found that the doors of altogether 14 rooms on the second through fifth floors of the condominium were forced open by the burglar.

Valuables taken by the thief were mostly cash, amulets and mobile phones.

One victimised tenant, Jarinya Kerddee, 30, said she went to work in the morning.  When she returned after work and dinner, she found the lock had been sawed off.  The room was ransacked, but the thief left with nothing, as she did not keep valuables in her room.

She later learned that 13 other units had been broken into the same night. Ms Jarinya said most of the tenants return home late in the night after work.

The condominium has only one security camera on the first floor.
