Four people were arrested and counterfeit US$100 banknotes worth 1.5 million baht seized in Bangkok's Chatuchak district yesterday.
The two men and two women were caught at the Tesco Lotus Lat Phrao branch and 471 fake $100 banknotes were found in their possession, Pol Col Akkradet Pimolsri, acting chief of the Crime Suppression Division said.
The four were identified as Phetsunee Opas-iemkhajorn, 42, Wassana Temjai, 39, Pirutkorn Udomkit, 42, and Chadchai Panityamontri, 45.
Police had received a tip-off that a gang was trying to pass off forged US banknotes at shops in the Chatuchak area.
