A man suspected of running an anti-monarchy website is hiding in Thailand and trying to flee the country, according to special investigation authorities.
Pol Maj Suriya Singhakamol, director for technology and cybercrime at the Department of Special Investigation, said on Wednesday the suspect, identified only as Banphot, was an old man who had never faced an arrest warrant. He allegedly is trying to flee the country.
The director said the man was suspected of gathering and posting information online. He was also part of a movement that included technical and financial supporters and writers, he added.
As well, the movement made efforts to conceal its IP address, Pol Maj Suriya said.
