The Narcotics Suppression Bureau seized 30 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine worth 105 million baht and arrested two people during an undercover drug operation in Bangkok.
Natcha Srilawong, 46, and Manop Wangkit, 41, were apprehended after police got a tip two people would be bringing drugs to sell in Bangkok, said deputy police chief Pongsapat Pongcharoen.
Police set up a drug buy and said Mr Manop brought six kilogrammes of ya ice to undercover officers in the Rangnam area. Police expanded the investigation and searched a room on Soi Ratchaparop 18 where they found another 24kg of crystal meth.
Police said Mr Manop told them that he received 50,000 baht from this job but Ms Natcha refused to provide any information. Police investigators alleged she is the person who looks after finances for the drug gang whose boss resides in a neighbouring country.
