Police suspect fellow countrymen are behind the murder of a Russian man in a low-rent Pattaya apartment.
The unidentified Russian in his 30s was found stabbed and his throat slit over the weekend at the Porn Apartments on Soi Arunothai in Chon Buri's Bang Lamung District. He also suffered heavy bruising to the face, indicating a fight.
There were traces of fight and blood stains all over the room. Police assumed he was killed a few days earlier.
Pornpan Tasanont, staff at the rental apartment, said four Russians had checked in on March 24. They rented two rooms at 200 baht per night.
Two of the Russians checked out in March. But the remaining pair brought the victim to stay with them.
Miss Pornpan found the body after using a master key to open the room when no one answered when she came to collect the rent.
Police believe the murder resulted from a conflict within the group of Russians.
