The owner of a medical-supply company was shot dead and his wife and manager injured when a disgruntled customer sprayed their store with bullets after being refused a refund.

Worapong Opascharoenkit, owner of Circlife Co, was killed around 3pm at the company headquarters on Kanchanaphisek Road in Bang Kae district.

Just before the shooting, Prasit Tormanee, 48, reportedly arrived at the company to seek a refund for life-support equipment with which he was dissatisfied. When the refund was refused, he allegedly got into an argument with Worapong before storming out.

In the parking lot, Prasit allegedly rammed Worapong's car with his own. Prasit then was invited inside again to discuss the matter further.

Prasit, however, allegedly retaliated by pulling a 9mm handgun and shooting at Worapong, his wife, Thitiya Opascharoenkit, and his manager, Nakhon Khruasoonthornwanit, until its magazine was emptied.

The incident shocked staff at the company. Patrol police managed to arrest Prasit before he could escape and initially charged him with premeditated murder.
