A man wanted for the killing of entertainment tycoon Somyos Suthangkura has been arrested, the Metropolitan Police Bureau chief said Wednesday.

Pol Lt Gen Sriwara Rangsitphramanakul said the unnamed suspect, who was pictured in an arrest-warrant sketch, was caught in an undisclosed location and taken for interrogations by MPB officers.

The 32-year-old man reportedly confessed to pulling the trigger on Somyos in a car park at the Heng Shark Fin restaurant in Suan Luang district June 29.

Investigators said he told police that he was hired to kill the businessman by a another man because Somyos owed him money and wasn't being repaid.

Two arrest warrants were later issued for a motorcycle driver and a gunman.

Pol Lt Gen Sriwara said more warrants would be issued if the man decided to implicate others in the plot to kill the 62-year-old tycoon.
