PATTANI -- A man was shot to death in a gun attack in Sai Buri district of this troubled southern border province on Saturday night, Manager Online reported.
Pol Lt Samart Rattanapong, the duty officer at Sai Buri police station, said the incident occurred early last night on a road in Payo village in tambon Kadunong.
While Alhakim Dasi, 55, was returning home on a motorcycle from the district town he was followed by two men on another motorcycle. The pillion rider opened fire at him with a handgun, hitting him three times in the head and body, killing him instantly.
Police were investigating to find out if the killing was related to the insurgency.
