Three arrested delivering meth pills to South

SURAT THANI -- Three men have been caught in this southern province while delivering 89,000 methamphetamine pills from Bangkok, destined for Narathiwat.

The three men and the drugs were taken to a press conference at Tha Chi police station in Ban Nasan district on Sunday morning.

Pol Lt Gen Thesa Siriwatho, the Region 8 Provincial Police chief, identified the three as Manapi Sulong, 49, Saiful Bahari Chedo, 28, and Ruslan Ladeng, 38, all from Rangae district of Narathiwat.

The three were stopped for a search at Moo 1 village in tambon Nam Phu of Ban Nasan district on Sunday at 7.30am while travelling past a checkpoint in two cars. The police found in the second car 89,600 speed pills.

According to Pol Lt Gen Thesa, they confessed to having been hired by an unidentified man for 50,000 baht to deliver the drugs from Bangkok to Narathiwat.
