CSD looks into suspect drug killing

The father of a 24-year-old engineer killed by Sakon Nakhon police in late December has asked the Crime Suppression Division to intervene in the case as he does not trust the local police to investigate it fairly.

Songserm Saengrit, the father of the late Phairote Saengrit, met CSD chief Supisarn Bhakdinarinath yesterday, asking for justice for his son.

On the night of Dec 27 last year, Phairote was shot dead in a police operation to crack down on drug trafficking.

The question for the investigators is not whether Mr. Saengrit was a drug dealer. The question is whether the police committed the crime of murder. The story here sounds like police fired their weapons for no reason. What is the story? What happened at that place? Something is wrong here.

If you cannot trust the local police, who can you trust?
Call DSI everytime you have a problem?
