Identifying Udon's murderer

Inexperienced killer rather than contract hitman suspected

Police believe bullets hold vital clues edging them closer to identifying the killer of prominent politician Udon Kraiwatnussorn.

The bullets collected from the scene of the killing reveal the kind of gun used to kill Udon, the former chairman of the Samut Sakhon provincial administration organisation, who was slain at a petrol station in Samut Sakhon's Muang district on Dec 25.

The only suspect in the case is Democrat Party MP for Samut Sakhon Khanchit Thapsuwan. He has surrendered to police but denies the murder charge.

With the evidence of witnesses and the fact that the alleged shooter owned the same model gun, a Western judge would have issued a search warrant, and the truck and gun would have been seized within one hour. There is somethin wrong with Thailand.

92 killed, hundreds more shot by bullets.. all happening right in the middle of Bangkok with hundreds of witnesses and thousands of spent shells on the streets. Yet after 2 years, nobody could be faulted.

How are we now to assume that this case will be solved when there is just one killed, 8 spent shells and it took place in an obscure toilet? Even the few witnesses there appeared to have had serious discussions with the alleged gun man's powerfully connected father.

The Dems came to power through the barrel of a gun, and tried to maintain power through the barrel of a gun. They are not going to be moved by any plea to surrender one of their own so easily.

Just Goes to Prove How Dangerous Thailand is.Its so dangerously corrupt its frightening,a lawless country where even with the ultimate Crime of Murder you can get away with it.Thailand should be Embarassed of itself with such a huge Police force that cannot do thier job or not allowed to do thier job?

This has dragged on long enough. All of the witnesses and evidence point to just one suspect.

Mr. Abhisit, as the Democrat's opposition leader should push to have this MP's immunity waived now. And then introduce a bill to make immunity invalid for capital crimes.

I find it very difficult to believe that this Democrat MP would have committed the murder himself. It's just not how these things are done. He has more than enough money to have hired the best hit man out there, someone who would leave no trace. Furthermore, the idea that he was waiting in some gas station bathroom where the victim just happened to stop and need to relieve himself sounds like a fantasy. A lot of people are assuming he is guilty because he is a powerful local politician and many of them tend to be corrupt or gangsters. But at the same time, how many times have we seen the police bungle investigations or rig investigations to go after whoever they want to be guilty? I don't trust the Thai police. Even more so under the current chief.

"Pol Maj Gen Prayon said both the 9mm and the 11mm guns can be bought easily on the black market.
Well why aren't the police doing something about this????????"

Please don't be too hard on Thailand... there is not a 'free' country in the world that does not have a black market for guns, drugs, documents, (women), etc. Even a non-corrupt police force could not rid these things without cancelling all freedoms. USA, UK, Australia, etc. all struggle with this issue. Ultimate "Supply & Demand." economy will survive...

This is of course not looking good for the MP or the Dem Party, the Dem party should work hard to convince Khun Khanchit Thapsuwan that he should give up his immunity so that he has a chance to to be proven innocent or as the police assume guilty !

We way things are going, the outcome seems a to be a foregone conclusion that will be made possible due to a series of lies, perjury, intimidation and end up being nothing more than a series of pea and thimble tricks put on by the orchestaters - to fool a gullible audience.

Where's Khun Chalerm, DPM in charge of security in this case? People are waiting. Is he afraid of Thapsuwan family or what?

The lining maybe can be rebored, but that would prove intent, plus burn pattern of the shells if the rest of the box is collected too! The firing pin mark and reject claw mark on the spent shells can be used as evidence, as could fingprints on the shell casing while loading if collected carefully. plus VDO of the two in the petrol station at the same time will help. He seems to be calling in some very big favours at the moment..who will crack first?
