Accused Democrat MP wanted for questioning

Provincial Police Region 7 has sent a letter to the Royal Thai Police Office asking it to submit a request that the House of Representatives allow Democrat Party MP Khanchit Thapsuwan meet police investigators, police spokesman Piya Uthayo said on Wednesday.

The Samut Sakhon Court on Dec 26 last year issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr Khanchit in connection with the murder of Provincial Administration Organisation chairman Udon Kraiwatnussorn, who was shot dead at a petrol station in Muang district of Samut Sakhon on Dec 25.

The only suspect in the case is Mr Khanchit, a Democrat Party MP for Samut Sakhon, who is protected by parliamentary immunity while parliament is in session.

One doesn't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out how that letter to the House Speaker requesting that Khanchit complies with police directives will be dealt with...'FINE FEATHERS MAKE FINE BIRDS' and 'BIRDS OF A FEATHER - FLOCK TOGETHER'.

Immunity for MP’s is unfortunately common in many countries but at least in most places they can be stripped of their immunity and prosecuted especially for a serious crime as murder.
Another worrying thing in this article is the request by former senator Ruangkrai Leekitwattana to investigate the Dem’s for accepting donations to help flood victims. Did Ruangkrai offer any help or at least donated some of his money? I doubt! There are so many cases of corruption to investigate and he could be the one requesting it and be a hero but……

Colonel Somsak hit Mor Muk to half dead with his Nissan sedan, a high ranking customs officer smacked the ear of an airport secutiry staff , a DEM MP suspected of shooting somebody dead and police can't even arrest him for questioning....these are superior thai citizens.

Thais have absolutely no idea how much damage Khanchit's flouting of the law, associated police gobbledegook and slapping of a security official by an alleged VIP at the airport is doing to Thailand's international reputation... Not that it was much good to start with.

The immunity law for MP's must be changed. Hopefully a good Charter change.

What do you bet that .40 cal automatic has a new barrel and firing pin by now. Good luck on the ballistics test. Hopefully, the police had enough sense not to damage any fingerprints on the empty cartridges.
