PAO member slain in Narathiwat

A member of the Narathiwat Provincial Administration Organisation (PAO) was shot dead in Sungai Kolok district on Wednesday morning, police said.
Sirapong Thongcheen, 52, PAO councillor for Sungai Kolok district, was returning home in a pick-up truck at the time after taking his wife to work, Pol Lt Asran Hamu, the duty officer at Sungai Kolok police station, said.
He was overtaken by two men on a motorcycle. The pillion rider fired five shots at Sirapong with a pistol, hitting him four times, in the head and chest, and killing him instantly.
