Police arrest 5 in elaborate fraud scam

Five people have been charged with defrauding a woman retiree by posing as anti-money laundering officials.
The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) and tourist police announced the arrest of the five suspects - Wichai Kongmongkol, 46, Usa Boonrueng, 57, Bebe Ching Lee, 29, Theerakiat Sae Joo, 24, and Dilokpat Rairiangwanakajee, 37 - at the division yesterday.
The suspects were nabbed in Chiang Mai after the provincial court issued warrants for their arrests on Wednesday.
