Five held over deadly car chase

Police on Monday arrested five suspects over the confrontation between two groups of youths that led to a wild car chase, shots being fired and a double crash in which five people died and five others were injured in Bangkok's Rat Burana district.

The suspects arrested were Warut Paladej, 23, Saksit Wannapahul, 20, and three minors, whose name were witheld, Metropolitan Police chief Winai Thongsong said on Monday.

Another suspect still at large was identified as Weerayuth Jaroonrueang. He was accused by his friends of firing shots at the other group in a pickup before the fatal crash.

Some of those charged are minors, and this incident occured at 5am. Two questions: Are the parents of these minors also to be charged for being irresponsible in allowing their kids to be in a pub at 5am, and are the pub management/owners to be prosecuted for allowing minors there, let alone being open at 5am?

So many young lives wasted just to show some 'bravado'. A tragedy all around.

Get a grip, condolences to all families.
Condolences to the families of the victims. Shouldn't the parents of the gang chasing not have shown a bit more responsibility in teaching right from wrong. Bang them up for a long time.
Judging by cars they were driving doesn't seem to be a lot of money to help save them
