Khun Sa ring linked to B1bn drug bust

Drugs worth about 1 billion baht seized from a house in Pathum Thani last week are linked to the late drug kingpin Khun Sa’s network, Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung said on Tuesday.

Citing ‘’credible’’ intelligence reports, Mr Chalerm said the smuggling of the seized drugs was facilitated by Khun Sa’s Chinese henchman, but did not provide any further details.

He said most of the street drugs circulating in Thailand are smuggled from neighbouring Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, as well as China. Thailand will seek closer cooperation from these countries.
