Govt wants to isolate drug addict prisoners

Proposal to stop illicit substances entering jails

The Department of Corrections is considering separating drug-case inmates suspected of keeping up their connections with the illicit drug trade outside prison from other prisoners.

The department will dedicate a zone in the Klong Pai Central Prison in Nakhon Ratchasima to detain such drug inmates, who are likely to be isolated in single cells, department director-general Suchart Wong-ananchai said.

''These type of prisoners need to be controlled with the help of technology which can film them while they are meeting warders, to prevent them from attempting to bribe the officers,'' Mr Suchart said.

Yes your right diss 3 better tens of thousands sit idle and do nothing for years on end except deal drugs and commit violent crime against each other .Working outside providing a service to society couldnt possibly build their self esteem or be of any benefit .

Well said Bonzo, history can repeat itself, dao...why would you let the guards that already
take bribes for cell phones watchfully observe them as they make their escape from workcamps.

I hope there wont be any guards in the new prison because they are the ones who are bribed to bring drugs and mobile phones in .We dont need special prisons for protesters and drug addicts .We need work camps building flood prevention measures ,picking up garbage ,and cleaning out sewers under watchful eyes of guards .

Excellent idea. Round them up in a single concentration, and put them in a camp. Make sure they have productive tasks to perform, and remind them on a daily basis that Work Makes You Free. You could even put a sign up over the gate.
