Police seize B500m drugs haul

Chiang Rai police have arrested a suspected drug trafficker with 1.8 million speed pills worth 500 million baht.

Phaya Mengrai police station investigators arrested Woranart Changtaeng, 45, in an orchard in tambon Mae Pao, of Chiang Rai's Phaya Mengrai district.

Police say the suspect was sitting in the orchard with a bag containing the methamphetamine pills, or ya ba, and some crystal meth, also known as ice.
