Three die in police-booth shootout

Rangers wounded as 7 men in truck open fire

Three suspected militants were killed yesterday in a clash with military rangers in Pattani's Panare district.

The clash broke out around 11am yesterday at Na Phrao junction in tambon Panare when about seven militants in a pickup opened fire on rangers who were building a new police booth.

A gun battle ensued, continuing until some of the militants fled on foot. Three rangers were wounded.
