As we do not know the circumstances we can only make guesses we should not judge this women, who knows how her life has been confronted at the age of 14 years. Good that now are laws protecting minors.

Besides DickFarang nobody seems to know and understand what all played a role. I wrote this morning about the details but the person in charge did not saw it fit to place it. The guy was old and the girl very young, he was doing something which is strongly forbidden nowadays. Sure murder is totally un-acceptable but the circumstances must count as well.

'The Supreme Court yesterday looked into circumstantial evidence, including results of a lie detector test the defendant failed'

Maybe we could get all the police to take the lie detector test to see if they are corrupt or not.

Sound like a premeditated first-degree murder, but the punishment sounds like a slap on the wrist to me.

DickFarang, discussion 15 and 16, thank you so much for your valuable contributions here, sincerely appreciated. It once again underlines that, why, we should not rush to conclusions, comments, without knowing the facts - and knowing the facts is not always easy, given certain restrictions.

    I also found this:

“1995 Aug 21, In Thailand Prince Thitiphan Yugala (60) was poisoned by his new wife Chalasai Yugala (23), aka Luk Pla (Baby fish). He died after 8 days and Luk Pla ran off with Uthet Choopwa (19), a chestnut peddler. She had become his lover at 14 and wife at 23. In 2002 she was sentenced to 6 years in prison.”

    Really strange story.

She was adopted by that prince’s sister, became his servant at 4 years (!) and his common-law wife at 12 years (!).

for those wondering about the length of time and lightness of sentence, it is amazing that it went through at all, and probably she will receive the royal pardon. If you check the title preceding her name, it is not Mrs or Ms, it is Mom, and her husband was not Mr. You are on your own to figure out what that means.

post 9 Klauss, sentences have gone up considerably, I remember former cases when a wife killed husband and mia noi and claiming mitigating circumstances that the family was at rik as the husband was the breadwinner. Many walked without being sentenced.......

    Justice delayed is...
@ klauss, discussion 2, upena, discussion 3, dao, discussion 10, the court - no: this court - apparently does NOT consider this a case of murder. You may call it murder, but then, you are not lawyers, judges - fortunately.
